Alison stepped down from her role as CEO of HSBC Scotland in Dec 2018 to establish a ‘portfolio career’. Her experience includes strategy, business growth, restructuring, transformation, regulation, CSR, managing and influencing diverse internal and external stakeholders, including Government.
She has a strong track record of values-based leadership, inspiring, directing and empowering diverse teams to drive change and improve performance. Board member of the HSBC UK Diversity and Inclusion Board with responsibility for LGBT+ and Women on Boards.
Is a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Audit Committee at Scottish Power Energy Networks, Chair of the Malcolm Group (Construction and Logistics) and a Non-executive Director of Fidelity Special Values PLC.
A Board member CBI UK, Co-chair of the Scottish Apprenticeship Advisory Board and a Trustee of the Beatson Cancer Charity.
Previously held roles as Chair CBI Scotland and Non-Executive Director Scottish Enterprise, Scotland’s national economic development agency.
In 2018 was awarded the Woman in Banking and Finance UK award for Achievement and in 2017 was recognised as Scotland Corporate Leader of the Year at the Scottish Women’s Awards. In 2019 was recognised as Scotland’s ‘Apprentice Great’.
Alison is recognised for her work in the financial services sector and wider. She would describe the golden threads that connect her roles as developing inspirational leaders and/or supporting the growth of the economy.
