Helen Weir is currently Chair of Mobico Group (formerly National Express). She is also on the Supervisory Board of Ahold Delhaize (where she chairs the Governance and Nominations Committee), and a Non-Executive Director of Superdry (where she serves as SID) and Bata Shoes (where she chairs the Audit Committee). Previous non-executive Director roles include SAB Miller, Just Eat, GEMS Education, Royal Mail Holdings, the RFU and City of London Investment Trust. She is also a Trustee of Teach First.
In her executive career, Helen served as CFO of a number of large, consumer-facing businesses including Marks & Spencer, John Lewis Partnership, Lloyds Banking Group and Kingfisher. From 2008 to 2011 she was CEO of the Retail Banking division of Lloyds Bank. She also served on the Management Board of Castorama in France and Supervisory Board of Hornbach Holdings in Germany. She spent her early career at Unilever and McKinsey & Co.
Helen is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants and previously served as a member of the Accounting Standards Board. She has an MA in Mathematics from Oxford University and an MBA from Stanford University. She is married with 3 children.
Helen was recognised for her outstanding contribution to Finance by CFO magazine in 2016 and won the International Accountant of the Year award in 2006. She was Harpers Bazaar/Chanel businesswoman of the year in 2006. Helen was awarded a CBE for Services to Finance in the 2008 Honours list.
