Nathan is an independent non-executive director on the Board of AXA XL UK and a former FTSE100 C-suite executive with over 30 years of international business experience. His last executive committee role was as Group Chief Underwriting Officer at RSA, a major multinational insurer protecting customers in over 100 countries. While at RSA he led a successful transformation of the global underwriting leading to RSA’s best ever underwriting result. Throughout his career he has led innovation most recently championing the implementation of AI techniques across multiple countries and business units. He also served on several RSA Boards.
He has extensive experience of working with different cultures in multinational organisations and leading cross-country change programmes. He has been involved in mentoring for many years both internally and through external organisations such as the 30% Club.
Nathan started his career with Aviva in 1988. He is a graduate of the University of Manchester and qualified as Actuary in 1995. He has lived and worked in Denmark, Ireland, and New Zealand.
In his spare time, he enjoys mountaineering, kayaking, swimming and running.
